Why oh why is it asking me to create a 3rd account. I have 2 NCSoft accounts (GW one and then my Aion beta one), pre-ordered yesterday. I'm logged into my NCSoft account and when I go to apply my serial code it's asking me to create another new Aion game account. I've tried typing in both of my account information but all it says is "that account all ready exists."
I read something on some obscure FAQ page about not being able to apply the retail key until the game starts. Is this why that's happening?

Probably. If I understood rangereminem's extremely garbled post and Ayase's obscure contextless twitter correctly, you can access the game with your beta code until 24 hours after the official launch date, so you don't actually *need* to add the key yet. Maybe wait til then, so that it's past the beta time and into the game time, before you try adding the code? Alternatively send support a message, if you're worried they wouldn't be able to deal with it in time if you still have problems adding it come launch.

Yeah, but they're starting to piss me off. They constantly complain how we have too few tanks at 25-28 for the instance, but when I say something negative like "we could use more healers online", I'm getting "stop QQing" and "I'm warning you!!" from the leader.
I don't think I ever used the term "carebear", but this would suit most of those people well. Also that we have almost 65 people and I know about 15-20 that visit the forums...

How is the combat/skill selection? Is it similar to guild wars where u can get 2 professions and pick a set number of skills before you go into combat?

No. You can change your skills wherever you want to.

Skill selection is like pretty much every other MMO - your list of skills is nonexistent compared with GW's vast range, and you always have access to all of them. You get a few new set skills at set levels, based on your class, and that's it.

Wall of text incoming cos I cba to split this into teeny paragraphs for each comment. If you cba to read it in return, that's fine.
Depends on your POV. The game looks good and so do your characters. Compared with GW, there's a lot of customisability when it comes to appearance but there's a lot less customisability when it comes to skills (see above). There's a lot you can do solo, but there's some areas where you *have* to group. If you're not able to play for a long time in one sitting (like, several hours) then some of these might prove problematic, even early on. The quests are a mixture of "kill X of Y", "deliver A to B", "talk to Z" etc and are well-written. I've been able to get to lvl 20 purely through questing, although it's best to kill stuff between A and B rather than running past it all to get straight to B. (I don't get to play long enough/frequently enough to have reached lvl30+ like the more hardcore players have so I can't comment on progress through higher levels or on PvP.) Crafting adds something extra to the game over GW but if you've tried WoW, WAR, DAoC etc already then it won't be anything new to you. I really like it and I think it's a lot of fun, but I don't know if I'll be able to stick with it because of the time commitment it's likely to require at higher levels. We'll see.

It's so good, I've been waiting for an hour and still have 32 minutes to get on my server ;d
Overpopulation = damn it, MORE SERVERS!
Also, about the grind - I'm level 24 already and I have full quest bar. 7 active quests or so. And that's because the high-exp monsters in Abyss.

Yeah, I'm going to try running on Kahrun if I don't get into Tranquility guild. I won't go with Spiritmaster until they add the flying pets (I hated my Closed Beta SM because I couldn't move around in the Abyss well). I also won't play Gladiator, as it's overpopulated as it is.
I think I'll either roll an Assassin (I played Ranger in both C-Aion and CB, didn't like them) or a Cleric. I'm still on the fence, though... But I'm going Asmo for sure - not because I like them over Elyos, it's just that I haven't played them since June.

Don’t bother with Aion, it is the most grind intensive crapfest you could possibly imagine, everything that you should hate about an MMO is proudly featured in aion, wait times of up to two hours to log into your server, fighting 50 other ppl for the same spawn, so much grind it will make you want to put your fist through your monitor, and 90% of the quests are Kill X of Y creature. The quests seem to have been written by someone who hates both their job, other people and you in particular.
Now on to the main storyline, there is none to speak of, just some pretty vague references to you having lost your memory in some epic battle.
Now on to flying, the main selling point of the game, the big new innovation behind all the hype, well its B***SH**, there are very few places you can fly and the few area you can fly in your flight time is VERY limited and has a 3 min cool down. There is really only one place you can fly around as much as you want and guess what, that’s in the Abyss, the high-end PvPvE area so if you just want to cruise around and look at the scenery someone is going to gank you.
